TRAC presented a North Bay Rail Forum in Napa on January 3, 2018. Here is the presentation, in which we lay out plans for rail connections between SMART, the Capitol Corridor in Suisun, St. Helena and the Vallejo Ferry. TRAC believes that the Vallejo Ferry to Napa Valley route will be profitable because of high tourist demand for rail-based wine tastings—which won’t require a designated driver! With additional public money, a private sector operator might agree to run the East-West service as well.
